iobar version history

Download for Mac

1.1.2

Latest

Improved

  • iobar now gets its updates from ioxyz.io, its new home. Settings → About → Terms of Use opens there too.

1.1.1

Improved

  • A scheduled run now quits Terminal and opens it fresh, closing every window it had open, then starts Claude Code in its first window. Several runs set to the same minute still each get a window. Run Now also starts with a fresh Terminal.

Fixed

  • A scheduled run could start twice at its time and open two Terminal windows.

1.1.0

New

  • Claude Code usage in the menu bar, if you want it: turn it on in Settings → Claude to see your 5-hour and weekly limits next to iobar's icon. Click it for the pace of each window, the burn rate and the cost per model.
  • Connect Claude Code's statusline for the official limits. Without it, iobar estimates the 5-hour window from Claude Code's logs.
  • Scheduled runs: start Claude Code in a new Terminal window at set times each day, for example to open a 5-hour window before you sit down.
  • Coming from ClaudeBar? Settings → Claude brings over its statusline connection and scheduled runs.

1.0.3

Fixed

  • The hide fade no longer shows an odd rectangle on the menu bar; it now fades a picture of the bar taken the moment you hide.

1.0.2

Improved

  • The fade option now follows the Screen Recording permission: without it the switch is off, and turning it on asks for the permission. It turns on by itself once allowed.

1.0.1

New

  • Revealed items hide again when you click anywhere off the menu bar or switch Spaces. Clicks on the menu bar, and in a menu or popover you opened from a revealed item, keep them shown.
  • Hidden items fade away instead of vanishing at once. Turn it off in Settings → General; it needs Screen Recording.

Improved

  • Settings → General asks how clicking iobar shows hidden items (on the menu bar, or in a bar below it), with the fade option under the menu bar choice.

1.0.0

  • Click the iobar icon to show or hide the Hidden section; Option-click for Always-Hidden.
  • Hidden items are tucked away with macOS 27's own menu bar mechanism.
  • Open hidden items in a bar under the icon instead of on the menu bar.
  • Arrange items in Settings → Layout, or Command-drag them across the iobar icon.
  • Set your own shortcuts, pick an icon, and launch at login.
